Marjorie D. Voshell

            Marjorie Darlene Voshell, daughter of McKinley and Martha Gage, was born May 27, 1937, near Lima in rural Fayette County, Iowa. She attended country school near Wadena and graduated from Wadena High School in 1954.

            On October 8, 1955, she was united in marriage with LeRoy L. Voshell in Iowa City. The couple made their home in Fayette for many years, and after her husband's death in 1991, Marjorie became a resident of  West Union. She worked at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette, Palmer Lutheran Health Center, the Good Samaritan Home, Dura, and the Town House Café, all in West Union, and the Valley Inn in Wadena.

            A resident of the Oelwein Health Care Center since February of 2010, Marjorie’s death occurred Friday, September 30, 2011, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, following a sudden illness. She was 74 years old.

            She is survived by seven children, Larry (Kelly) Voshell of Wadena, Lonnie (Darcy) Voshell of West Union, Lannette (Mike) Ginder of Algona, Lori (Don) Traeger of Cresco, Linda (Ron Shuck) Voshell of Oelwein, and Lowell Voshell and Lloyd Voshell, both of West Union; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Duane Gage of Guttenburg, Edwin (Virginia) Gage of Wadena, and Keith (Waneta) Gage of Oelwein; and two sisters, Mary Reed of Oelwein and Maxine (Bob) Klaes of Guttenburg.

            In addition to her husband, LeRoy, Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, John and James Gage.

            Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Dale Rausch officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Fayette and for one hour preceding services at the chapel on Wednesday. Interment will be at Taylorsville Cemetery in Arlington.
